The Position Task Book (PTB) is your roadmap to becoming recognized as an AUXC.
It’s a checklist of tasks and skills you must complete, with each step signed off by qualified evaluators.
Your sponsoring agency must sign the first page before you begin.
Use the most current PTB version available (your training issue or newer).
You’ll complete tasks during exercises, planned events, or real incidents:
Exercises/Planned Events → Must be pre-approved by the Statewide Interoperability Coordinator (SWIC).
Real Incidents → No pre-approval needed, but notify the SWIC afterward.
✅ Requirements:
Complete tasks at two or more different events.
Get signatures from two or three different evaluators.
Start your PTB within 18 months of classroom training.
Finish within 3 years of starting.
Need more time? You may request a 1-year extension from the SWIC.
Your PTB is complete when:
All tasks are signed by qualified evaluators.
A final evaluator verifies your overall work.
⚠️ Completing the PTB does not automatically mean recognition. The Credentialing & Qualification Review Board (CQRB) makes the final call.
